Kristie Young

Kristie is a pediatric speech language pathologist with 6 years of experience working with children ages 3-21 years old. Her experience has primarily been in elementary self-contained classrooms helping integrate students into the general education setting. She holds a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a bachelor’s from Butler University. Kristie uses a functional and holistic approach to help maximize communication skills. She has extensive knowledge with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, not only for the child, but also with training the adult communication partners who engage with the child. Kristie believes in the importance of collaboration and is happy to work with parents, medical providers, and educational professionals as a team to set your child up for success.
Kristie enjoys doing home improvement projects with her husband, playing with her 2-year-old daughter, and taking walks with her family, including her dachshund, Howie. She also has 2 cats, Jimmy, and Sprocket, who would be deeply offended if she didn’t mention them.
